This is a rare offering.  Most of the burl sinks we create are custom orders.  It takes a special burl to become a sink.  It must have an acceptable shape, depth and be free of blimishes.  The handful of burls that qualify are set aside for a year before being roughed out.  They set a second year to cure before fine sanding and finish is applied. 

The finish is a 3 stage process that takes over a month to accomplish.  The first stage consists of 6 coats of clear polyurethane.  That is followed by 6 to 10 coats of 2 part marine grade epoxy.  It is topped off with 4 to 6 coats of 2 part resin sometimes called bar top finish.

The drain is finished with a brass fitting and stopper.

This sink is beautiful and quite durable.
